ABOUT THE ARTIST

Specializing in marine and coastal subjects from Ohio’s North Shore, Heather paints with the Marblehead plein air painters known as “The Group” and she is a member of the American Society of Marine Artists. Heather Cuesta earned her M.A. in the History of Art at the Ohio State University and her M.F.A. at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Heather paints in oil to quickly describe the ever changing light, colors, and atmosphere on the coast. Her aim is to faithfully capture the beauty of Lake Erie’s windswept shores with its rocky vantage points, waters cheered by the sound of playful waves, and endless activity of watercraft and migrating birds.
