ABOUT THE ARTIST

Specializing in marine and coastal subjects from Ohio’s North Shore, Heather paints with the Marblehead plein air painters known as “The Group” and she is a member of the American Society of Marine Artists. Heather Cuesta earned her M.A. in the History of Art at the Ohio State University and her M.F.A. at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Working primarily in oil, Heather aims to capture the beauty of Lake Erie’s windswept shores with its endless activity of watercraft and migrating birds. Heather draws inspiration from the rugged coastline and majestic seas of Winslow Homer, the largely unheralded American maritime artists, and the painters of all ages who hold reverence for nature and its faithful representation in art.
